Almato and Aristech Create a Comprehensive European AI Stack for Semantic Intelligence and Conversational AI
Almato’s Bardioc platform will be expanded to include the Aristech AI Suite for voice, email, chat, and AI agents.
Press release
Almato AG, one of Europe’s leading specialists in semantic data integration and explainable reasoning and a subsidiary of DATAGROUP SE, is acquiring Aristech GmbH, a software company focused on AI agents for customer service. Through this acquisition, both companies are combining their technologies to create an integrated European AI stack for semantic intelligence, conversational AI, and AI agents. Through the acquisition of Aristech, Almato is gradually expanding its AI-powered semantic data platform, Bardioc, with field-proven solutions for automated interaction via voice, email, and chat. The goal is to create a robust, GDPR-compliant alternative for companies and organizations that want to use AI securely, transparently, and in accordance with European data protection and security requirements.
The focus is on a comprehensive technology approach from Germany and Europe: from the semantic structuring, linking, and analysis of business-critical data to automated communication in specific processes. With Bardioc, Almato provides the explainable semantic database to connect information from various sources in a context-aware manner, evaluate it transparently, and make it usable for AI-supported automation. The Aristech AI Suite enables operational interaction via AI agents, voice, email, and chat applications. This creates an AI stack that combines digital sovereignty, GDPR-compliant operations, and practical automation without forcing companies into opaque dependencies on global platforms.
Aristech was founded in Heidelberg, Germany, in 2012 and specializes in AI-based language technology and the automation of customer service processes. Among other things, the company develops AI agents, voice and email bots, and text-to-speech applications. The solutions are used in particular by companies and organizations with high contact volumes, as well as in regulated and data-heavy industries, including ADAC, Air France KLM, and the Federal Employment Agency.
The transaction was notarized on May 21, 2026. There are no antitrust concerns. Aristech will remain its own brand, with its Heidelberg location and under the operational leadership of the current management team.
“With Aristech, we are expanding our platform specifically where interaction occurs. Our commitment remains unchanged: decisions must be explainable and context-aware. This is precisely where we see the core of the semantic intelligence revolution,” says Christian Sauter, CEO of Almato AG. “By connecting Bardioc with the Aristech AI Suite, we are creating an integrated AI stack that brings together data intelligence and operational automation.”
“Aristech stands for technological excellence. The decision by many large companies to adopt our technology confirms this commitment,” says Carolin Edler-Mende, CEO of Aristech GmbH. “To further expand our solutions in a highly competitive and increasingly dynamic AI market, we sought a strong partnership. In Almato, we see a partner for technology and growth with whom we can support companies even more comprehensively in automating their processes in the future. At the same time, we maintain what is central to us: digital sovereignty, security, and service from a single source.”
“The market is clearly moving toward operational AI platforms with genuine business relevance,” says Andreas Baresel, CEO of DATAGROUP SE. “By expanding Bardioc with Aristech’s conversational AI, we are strategically strengthening Almato’s position in the enterprise AI market. The key here is the combination of a semantic database and productive AI applications, because that is precisely where the sustainable value for our customers lies.”
